> The Clamouse Cave was discovered in the summer of 1945 by a team from the Montpellier Caving Club led by Maurice Laurès after crossing a dried-up siphon. The cave stretches about 4 km, of which almost 1 km has been set up for tours since 1965. The work was done in 1964 by a team of cavers who continue to operate it.
In 2000 Clamouse welcomed in the New Millennium with Michel Siffre’s Out of Time experience.
In 2001, partnering with the Côteaux du Languedoc, Clamouse invited visitors to get to know the finest wines from our local vineyards.
Major investments were made in 2002 to modernize and bring new life to tours:
* the explanatory film that starts the tour.
* the Cathedral of Time show: using sound a light, director Christophe Guyard (composer to the Council of Europe) recounted the wondrous story of the drop of water and of EXTRAORDINARY time!

In 2003, an educational film, In search of the Underground River was created. Professor Karstix invites his young audience to discover the mysteries of the underground river.
In 2005 Clamouse celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of its discovery.
In 2006 a visitors’ photo contest was held. The prize for originality went to Michel Fauré. The botanical trail was set up.
In 2007, children collected Easter eggs at Clamouse.
In 2008, the first Underground Cultural Festival was held (May 1-4).
In 2009, out of concern for its environment, Clamouse will install new low-energy lighting that will illuminate its delicate crystals without emitting any heat.
