> In the "Mystery of the underground river", funny Professor
Karstix teaches children the history of underground water in limestone areas.

Animated in 3D, the beauty of the landscape and the scenario make this film a teaching tool that children can really enjoy.

The aim is to make them think rationally about springs which are so often considered as a gift from heaven.

Limestone:
The growth of calcite and aragonite concretions gives rise to questions on the origins of limestone and how it is carried by water. The topic can be carried on with the aid of experiments (in exercise cards).

Reading the landscape:
On the way out of the cave, at the Pont du Diable 300 metres downstream, we suggest that teachers ask the children: "Why does the bed of the Hérault suddenly widen after after the Pont du Diable?"

The film demonstrates how the current erodes the concave bank of the river and deposits alluvium on the convex bank and thus shows how landscapes change with time (see the Cirque de Navacelles).
